Rink Covid Policy / Behavior Enforcement Two weekends in and we are all slowly working out the kinks in the "new normal" hockey season. Unfortunately, one issue has been brought to our attention after both weekends and needs to be addressed with the entire program asap.
The rinks each have very specific protocols for the athletes and the parents. We know it is a lot to remember BUT we need everyone to review these expectations with their athletes and families to enable our program to remain welcome inside each rink.
As a program, the Board and Coaching Staff have Zero Tolerance for any athlete who willfully violates any Rules/ Covid Policies/ Code of Conduct set forth from the rinks, the league and the club. It is unacceptable to argue with rink employees & management just as it is unacceptable to argue with coaching staff, security personel and referees. This disrespectful behavior breeds a culture that we do not support, encourage or want associated with our club.
Coaches will be addressing this with the athletes at practice this week. But parents, it is all of our duties to assist the coaches with establishing and enforcing our expectations. Another side note, please remember the 24 hour cool off rule when reaching out to the board or coaches with questions after games. Coaches are willing to discuss things directly with athletes and that should be the first course of action. If parents want to have further discussion and dialoge after this contact we suggest emailing our board and we can forward concerns on to the coaches. We welcome your feedback at our board email: arlingtonhockeyclubny@gmail.com That being said, athletes should always feel comfortable to communicate with their coaches.
Thank you for discussing this with your children.
